Mary Munson teaches young children and writes stories that entertain, delight and teach them more about their world.  She spends most of the year making mud pies, squishing slime, and trying to keep up with the three and four year old imagination.  In the summers, she immerses herself in nature to refresh her soul, on her porch to renew her mind and with her friends and family to rejuvenate her spirit.

Mary has an undergraduate degree in English, studying the masters of literature.  She also a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and also in Early Childhood Special Education.  Mary is an active member of New England’s Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.  She is also a participant in the 12×12 Challenge hosted by Julie Hedlund.  Mary also leads the Connecticut Children’s Writer’s Critique Group.

Mary is also a fungus hunter…which inspired the picture book, VINCENT THE FUNGUS PIG.
